Nearly died climbing this beaty but it was totally worth it! We were super lucky with the weather all day long (not really usual) and with the clear view over the beautiful scenery. Looking back, we pretty much underestimated the whole thing and did no preparation whatsoever (except buying the headlights and gloves the day before haha). NO PAIN NO COFFEE. Yushan, also famous under the name of Jade Mountain, is the highest mountain in Taiwan with an elevation of 3,952 meters. Recently, it has become a popular destination for hikers. It’s easy to understand why, Taiwanese are very friendly, the trail is well-maintained, clean and on top of that there’s even a lodge near the summit! You don’t need any specific equipment to climb the mountain unless you go in the winter, but you’ll need to have a decent level of fitness. In order to conquer this mountain you have to apply for a permit (minimum 7days in advance), plus you need to sleep at least 12 kilometers away from the summit or at the parking lot slightly closer if you have a car. Hope you enjoy the video and thank you for watching! Don´t forget to smash that LIKE button #hiking #4k #uhd #taiwan #yushan #2021 #台灣 #玉山 #mountains #nature #tour

Hiking the Yu shan Main Peak at Zero visibility with Snow Yu Shan or Yushan, also known as Mount Jade, Jade Mountain, or Mount Yu, and known as Mount Niitaka during Japanese rule, is the highest mountain in Taiwan at 3,952 m (12,966 ft) above sea level, giving Taiwan the 4th-highest maximum elevation of any island in the world. It is the highest point in the western Pacific region outside of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Yushan and its surrounding mountains belong to the Yushan Range. The area was once in the ocean; it rose to its current height because of the Eurasian Plate's movement over the Philippine Sea Plate. #YushanMainpeak #玉山 🛡Join this channel to get exclusive access to perks: 📌🤍 Want to know more about tourist spots around Taiwan? 👉🤍 👉🤍 👉🤍 Want to know about the best beaches in Taiwan? 👉🤍 How about travel Itineraries around Taiwan? 👉🤍 Thank You! I met up with a great group of people through the school I work for in Taiwan. We even had a camera crew following us the whole trip for their own project. 112 Yushan National Park (Chinese: 玉山國家公園; pinyin: Yù Shān Gúojiā Gōngyuán) is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the summit Yushan, the highest peak of the park.[1] The park covers a total of 103,121 hectares including large sections of the Central Mountain Range.[2] The park contains over thirty peaks more than 3,000 meters in elevation, and two-thirds of the area within the park is above 2,000 meters. The elevation difference in the park is 3,600 meters, and there are many canyons, cliffs, and valleys. Because its remote location and entry control, Yushan National Park is not among the most visited national parks in Taiwan. Even so, the park still attracted 1,044,994 visitors in 2015.[3]Geology[edit] Jade Mountain (Yushan) is Taiwan's tallest mountain at 3,952m (12,966 ft). Taiwan, which owes its existence to the power of plate tectonics, remains a place of regular seismic activity. Examples of geological features such as fault lines, joints, and folding can be seen throughout Yushan National Park: Great Precipice (大峭壁) — Great Precipice (23.4683339 120.9396649) is located 1.2 km before Paiyun Lodge (排雲山莊) on the Yushan Trail. A precipitous cliff with fossils of ancient marine species and a few wavy marks in the rock can still remind us its oceanic past. Scree slope at the foot of Main Peak Fault scarp in Laonong (荖濃) between Main Peak and Batongguan (八通關) Fuzi Cliff (父子斷崖) and Guanshan Cliff (關山斷崖) The southern Cross Island Highway and Yushan Scenic Highway both offer countless opportunities to witness the area’s special geological features.[4] Hydrology[edit] Yushan area is an important watershed of main river systems in central, southern, and eastern Taiwan.[5] It is the water sources of Zhuoshui River (濁水溪), Kaoping River (高屏溪), and Siouguluan River (秀姑巒溪). The Chenyoulan (陳有蘭溪), Jyunda (郡大溪), Nanzaisian (楠梓仙溪), Laonong (荖濃溪), and Lekuleku(拉庫拉庫溪) rivers are all young rivers from Yushan with V-shaped river bed. Jinmentong cliffs (金門峒斷崖) is a unique landmark along the Chenyoulan River (陳有蘭溪). It was formed when Chenyoulan River (陳有蘭溪) cuts through land traversed by a fault line, it showcases one of the best examples of headway erosion. Jinmentong cliffs (金門峒斷崖), Yunlong Waterfall (雲龍瀑布) and Yinyu Waterfall (乙女瀑布; also known as 七絲瀑布) are some popular scenic points in the park. Alpine lakes such as Dashueiku (大水窟), Tafen Pond (塔芬池), Jiaming Lake (嘉明湖), and Tienchih (天池) are formed from rain and melting snows in the shadows of surrounding mountain peaks. These lakes provide animals including visitors precious water from the mountains. However, the ecosystem around them is fragile and need further protection. The Yushan amphibious ship, LPD-1401, named after the highest mountain on the island of Taiwan, was commissioned on September 30. This is the latest result in the defense force modernization program of leader Tsai Ing-wen. Yushan LPD-1401, classified as a landing platform dock, is the largest surface warship of the Republic of China Navy, with four ships planned. The LPD Yushan can provide supplies and personnel to outlying islands in peacetime, but can also handle disaster relief and medical emergencies, in addition to its missions during wartime. The LPD Yushan can carry AAV-7 amphibious assault vehicles, landing craft, Hummer vehicles, and 673 soldiers. Yushan, also known as Mount Jade is the highest mountain on Taiwan Island at 3,952 m, giving Taiwan the 4th-highest maximum elevation of any island in the world. Perhaps it’s the sheer beauty of Jade Mountain that makes scaling it such a memorable as well as rewarding experience. The hardest aspect of climbing Yushan isn’t the trek itself, but getting the necessary Yushan National Park-issued permit, of which only around 90 are issued each day, and are notoriously sought after.  An alternative to trying to get this hard 2 day permit is to hike the mountain up and down in one day, for which a different (easier-to-get) permit is issued. It’s a long day, but certainly within the scope of fitter person and fortunately I was able to make it in 1 day on my birthday 4th April. 00:01:49
04.05.2021

Ou Yushan (CHN) is a rising star in the Chinese artistic gymnastics program, and is definitely a contender for the Chinese Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2020/Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Despite a downgrade on her most important dance element, she scored an impressive 13.666 on floor exercise at the World Junior Championships in 2019. With a clean Gomez (E) and a few tiny upgrades, her fantastic execution could win her floor medals although she doesn't have huge difficulty. Despite this, it seems like she's planning some ambitious upgrades for the future, which could potentially land her on an Olympic podium in Tokyo if she can hit when it matters most. I personally think that the judging was really strict at this competition — I had her at an 8.8 after my first run through — but I do try to match the results as found, which means being more or less strict depending on the competition. Enjoy this routine with both D-score (difficulty score) and E-score (execution score) being calculated. Sorry about the FIG info box showing up at the end of the routine — this was the best video I could find. I found that the judges were quite strict at this competition; an 8.566 is really strict for such a clean performance. I’m obviously on video, so it’s easier for me to replay elements and see mistakes. I made this video way earlier (before Euros!), but I forgot to post it, and seeing as I'm not doing a ton of "fun" work thanks to AP month (thank you College Board!), I may not have many more videos for the next few weeks. I'm posting this one instead. I'll do my best though; I promise! Notes: - Downgrade on the Gomez (E) was almost a bit too strict in my opinion but reflects the score awarded by the judges. She was falling out of the last rotation and thus was not “rotating the turn” per the rules. I try to make these videos accurate to the real competition results when possible, so that deduction is reflected. - Slow connection (0.1) on her Triple Twist (E) + Stag (A) was to reflect how she didn’t immediately “spring” up into the jump; rather, she seems to land and then jump after. - Low landing (0.1) on her Double Tuck (D) was also strict — it could also be in the form of a height deduction, perhaps? - The 0.1 excessive preparation/artistry deduction before her third pass was also quite strict, and I mainly did this to emulate the scoring “vibes” of the competition — do you think that it interrupted her flow enough to be considered a deduction? - No deduction on her Double Turn with Front Attitude (D) — I felt the turn was strongly and precisely completed, maybe 0.1 on the end but not enough for me. Looking back, it may have been wiser to have 0.1 precision on this and no low landing deduction on the double tuck. - The body shape deduction on her Switch Split 1/2 (C) was a result of her hips not being square on the leap — it was otherwise very clean, like the rest of her performance. - The artistry deduction for lack of expression was also a bit strict. I mainly took it because judges at junior competitions are extremely strict about artistry, so I have a feeling that they also took it. She was quite expressive between her first and second passes, but otherwise it seemed a bit less so. If you watch her performance from the event final, she seems much more lively — I wouldn’t’ve deducted during the EF. This music is Laurie Hernandez-esque and definitely is difficult to sell! In honesty, to me, it seems like she would fare better with more “classical” music. Actual score: 13.666 = 5.1 + 8.566 (avg. of multiple judges) Footage does not belong to me. Video belongs to the FIG from the 1st World Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Gyor, Hungary, 2019. Music belongs to copyright holder. My journey to Yushan Mountain. Challenging but doable in 1 day. 1. Get your park and police permits. 2. Arrive at Shangdongpu Bus Stop (from sun moon lake or alishan side). Rest at DongPu lodge. 3. Wake up at 1 am 4. Start from Tataka Saddle Yushan Trailhead at 2 am 5. Reach Paiyun lodge by 5:45 am 6. Reach Summit before 9 am. 7. Back to the trailhead in the afternoon. I carried two of my own prepared vegetarian lunch boxes and some chocolates. Also took an early lunch at Paiyun lodge (vegetables n soup)
